Nothing is left to chance when designing Bugatti water pumps. Each component is designed and manufactured according to strict OE specifications, and improved where possible, taking into account the morphology of the entire cooling circuit.

The casting of the water pump is carried out in-house by the Metelli Group foundry. The foundry guarantees high-performance products that comply with current regulations. Meticulous checks are carried out on incoming raw materials, during the casting process, during the finishing of unprocessed pieces, during machining and on the finished products.

Years of research in our R&D laboratory have given rise to a complete range of high quality automatic tensioners that have passed countless durability and stress tests with flying colours. It’s a range developed with the future in mind, to cover a car parc that will last over time. The competence and experience acquired over the years have allowed the technical team to optimise its products and guarantee an efficient production cycle, carried out by a semiautomatic line with quality checks on every single component and on all finished products.
All bearings for belt tensioners and idler pulleys, are set up on the test bench and approved only after 500 demanding hours of operation (equal to approximately 125,000 km) even at temperatures higher than the real ones. Samples are then analysed to estimate their average lifespan, which may even reach 1500 hours.

The components of the primary timing are fundamental parts for the proper functioning, over time, of the transmission system. Fixed tensioners and idler pulleys in steel or plastic ensure the correct tension of the toothed and poly-v belts and facilitate movement and alignment of the belts, reducing vibrations and noise. Bugatti components guarantee efficiency and durability because they are systematically subjected to severe function and simulation tests under the most extreme conditions of use. The range consists of over 800 items that can be installed on more than 4000 models of cars and light commercial vehicles.

A single kit that includes: water pump, tensioner, belt, idler pulleys and accessories which can be ordered under a single product code, minimising errors in identification. The range is constantly evolving and now covers over 90% of the European car parc. More than 170 product codes have been developed, covering around 1200 car models. Each Bugatti Smart Kit is studied and developed by a team of technical experts, who select the optimal configuration of components in order to offer the best value for money every time. Thanks to Bugatti’s in-house expertise, all components of the kit are comparable in quality and performance to the original product. Bugatti has chosen to offer a guarantee of 3 years for the Smart Kit.

Our timing belt kit without water pump consist of tensioners and idler pulleys produced by Bugatti, with premium belts from premium suppliers. The ever-evolving range has more than 400 references and guarantees approximately 90% coverage of the European car parc.
Each piece is carefully analysed and tested using computer simulations, according to the same quality and safety criteria of the OE manufacturers. We also subject our components to real-life stress tests on the road.
